Welcome to a weekend check-in. I have some tedious paperwork to complete, and I said jokingly to my sibling on the phone "I will probably end up tidying half the house rather than do this paperwork". Only it turns out I need a specific document, and I have lost it ~somewhere~ in this house, and that's not actually a joke any more.
I'll ramble a little in the comments like I usually do, but please check in with your challenges and successes and surprises, and let's cheer each other on a bit.
notes for my reference
Date: 2023-10-21 04:14 pm (UTC)Did roughly an hour (was meant to be 3x 15m with breaks, but I got distracted away from the timer) DKW-ing my bedroom and the shoe rack / child's coat rack downstairs: no Document, but I've filled a bag for the charity shop, and also made a couple of freecycle posts.
Sibling 2 (not the one I was on the phone with) has arrived for his usual weekend visit, but I think I can usefully DKW in the living room while we chat.
Re: notes for my reference
Date: 2023-10-22 05:57 pm (UTC)Yeah, I think we have all been there: staring into space surrounded by piles. :-/ Yay for pulling yourself together and getting rubbish and recycling "gone" into their bins and everything back on the shelf!
Yes, Dana K White's method is gold for the no piles reason. Did you happen upon the document so far? If not, I am keeping my fingers crossed that you find it soon! But I think lots of progress is coming from this stressful forced tidying anyway...
