It's been a while since I've had the oomph to engage with this community, which is a shame, because you are a great bunch of people, and I get motivated to go and deal with Stuff! by reading what you have all found to declutter.

So! On that note: what have you achieved in the declutter sphere? Have you done a tiny thing? Something marvellous and magical that has transformed your life? Made a plan but haven't yet carried it out? Tell us, tell us!

Comments open to locals, lurkers, drive by sticky beaks, and anyone I've forgotten to mention.

What unclutttering have you done recently? Are you feeling pleased with your progress? Tell us so we can congratulate you, and maybe feel inspired. Or are you lack lustre and it is all a drag, but you could do with some motivation? Tell us that, and we can commiserate on the continuing presence of Stuff.

In the past month or so, I've given away two bags of handmedowns, delivered two boxes of handmedowns instead of mailing them, donated a bag to the secondhand store, and gotten together another small bag to donate.  I'm sneaking out a battery operated toy that scares one of my kids, but if the kid knew what I was doing, there would be a tantrum.  I have a bag of textiles to recycle at some point.

As usual, none of this results in much visual progress.  I'm not too worried about that, I'm just happy that things are still moving out.

It's been a slow few weeks around here!  In the event that I had the energy to declutter, there's still not much that I can do.  Places are still closed, I can't donate right now, I don't feel comfortable going to the post office to ship things, etc.

I did read a book in the "read then donate" pile, and added it to the donation box.  I had hoped to like it enough to keep.  oh well.  I added a few more toys and a shirt to the box.  It may be full enough to justify donating whenever the stores open up again.

I did sell two things online and shipped those (prepaid shipping) in materials I had around the house.  I'm waiting for payment for two more things then will ship one and drop the other off.  I hope to drop a toy off for a friend as well.

Most importantly, I've gone back to two knitting projects, two hats, to rip them back just a bit, then add more length to make them more slouchy as first intended.  Now both hats are more comfortable and stylish, and the scrap yarn can be be added to my scrap yarn blanket project.

None of this felt like much progress but typing it up helps.  Slow progress is still progress.  We can still tidy up our homes and clean out a bit without donating things or giving things to others.  Finish up a project or fix a project.  Bake something with things in the pantry.  Use up that weird sauce in the fridge, or throw it out.  Take care of the mending pile.  Clean out a drawer, a closet, the garage.

We're all so busy with life right now!  Any little decluttering still counts!

I added two things to the donation bin and a shirt to the textiles recycling pile.  I shredded some paper to make packing materials for gifts.

Holidays in the United States have started and with that... little movement.  I sold a toy yesterday.  I'll have a few more things to list for sale this week, though that doesn't count as decluttering until the things leave the house.  One shirt to handmedowns, one thing for textile recycling (when I get to it).  I think a few more trinkets to next year's Halloween handouts already.

How are you doing in the midst of all these holidays?

More small progress here.  I've sent off the last facebook offer to friends and I'm down to a manageable number of padded envelopes.  I'm making more effort to buy in town but there are certain things we can't get here so we must order online.  I donated around 20 wire hangers to a dry cleaner, they've got the bin in the front of their shop and I was able to sneak in and out without having to talk to a person, great when I'm low on people energy but want that rattling in my car to stop.  I also donated a CD to the library for their book sale, having purchased the CD because I like that artist but finding that it's nearly identical to a later album by the same artist.  Worth the $1 gamble!

How is your uncluttering going today? Have you found a sliver of time to deal with one thing, have you put it off for another day, or is this one of the productive days?

I managed to send two items home with a friend - a book where I'd bought the wrong one, and a fancy window-sill planter where I grew the seeds it came with, and hadn't decided what else to do with it.

How is everyone going with your decluttering? I have been glancing at posts while I've been away (which was fabulous, and exhausting, and lots of other things besides) but not had the energy to comment, so well done to anyone who uncluttered anything in the last three or so weeks!

I don't think I've decluttered anything today (or in fact, this week). I've been working out what needs sorting out from my holiday, and rearranging other things to make clear spaces, and that is about it.

How's your week's progress shaping up?

I've sold a few things at a local shop to get a bit of store credit that I immediately used for some shoes for a kid.  Still, that was two things out, one thing in.  I sold a thing online and used some of my packaging stash.  I did buy a thing to sell--will quadruple my investment, if it goes well.  $16 is $16!  I added one thing to the donation pile.

This will be my last post for the month --I'll be back at the beginning of September, all going well. If any of you are going to either Worldcon in Dublin or Titancon in Belfast, I'd love to catch up!

But before I head out that door, my most recent bit of sorting through papers has cleared another waste paper basket full. I've moved almost all of the papers out of the spare room on to the desk, and there is still space for more! Still a ways to go, but I've pulled some items as priority when I get home again, so I have hopes of maintaining momentum.

But enough of me, tell me about your decluttering wins! Have you let something go? Have you made big changes, steady progress, small wins?

What do you have to report in your decluttering progress? Big wins? Small wins? Ongoing progress?

I'm in the last category, having started the job of clearing my desk. All the papers have been sorted through, and I can now fit the ones I still need to go through from there and the previous sorting on the desk. Still a lot to do, but feels like dramatic progress

It's still Wednesday where I am!

I didn't expect much movement in the last few days, what with freelance work picking up and life.  However, I sold a thing on Poshmark, packed it up in some of my excess tissue paper and some ribbon from a gift, and sent it in one of those damn padded envelopes.  Worth the time and effort to clear out that sweater and get some cash.  I also recycled batteries--the place raised their price, but I'm happy to pay this still low price to keep them out of the landfill--and donated 2 CDs.  Small progress is still progress!

How's your week's work shaping up?  Any movement?

I added 3 things to the donation pile and dropped it off.  I think 3 things were added to the handmedown box?  I threw away an old, mostly likely unsafe helmet and donated 10 or so picture books to the library for their book sale.

Current project:  I may have bought 9 CDs (totally did) and am working through them to see what's worth keeping.  I spent all of $7 on this batch, making it worth the gamble.  So far, I've donated one CD.  Carefully listening to the others to justify their space.

What have you achieved in your uncluttering journey today?

Personally, because I've been focusing on a) not letting my to do list get further out of control and b) welcoming a friend from over east who is moving into student accommodation for the next six months uncluttering has not actually been on my mind. However, I've found some things that might be surplus to my requirements, and they can borrow them for a bit. So, out of my house, but probably not out of my life.

What have you found to rehome recently? Or have you moved something out of the house that you'd already flagged to go?

I've been sorting Youngest's pile-o-stuff that got dumped in the front hall. Several dolls, soft toys, and missile weapon toys, all of which will get offered on FB once I've sorted what is there.

What have you found to unclutter today?

I'm on a bit of a streak, because not only have I put two things in the front hall, but Youngest has put a box of outgrown toys, and friend S found a box worth of items to rehome (these have come home with me, because everything will be put out on the local Buy Nothing group)

Any uncluttering to celebrate today?

I had an unexpected bit of decluttering, when that evil social media site I love to hate deigned to pass on a message from Friday. Not only did I get rid of the box of dead towels, but also two big bags I had no idea what to do with (think feed bags, but bigger).

What are your uncluttering successes today?

I've not done any, so I wish to bask in the reflected glory of others making progress!

How is your uncluttering going today?

It's the first good day I've had after the nasty chest cold I've had, and I've managed all sorts of wins. I've sorted the pile of books in the front hall, and taken them plus the box of assorted other things to the op-shop. I photographed everything that I was offering on Buy Nothing, and posted all the photos -- I've takers on several of the items already! I responded to a request on the same group for a clock radio, so that will be going tomorrow. And two older offers are being picked up as well (one today, one later in the week).

My front hall now looks a bit sparse, so I'm going to move the next set of things out once I've put aside the requested items.

On the electronic front - I did not actually end up going through my DW comments, but instead cleaned out a bunch of emails that required me to do a *lot* of reading. So I still haven't replied to lots of comments. But I read every one of your posts and comments and celebrate every one of the decluttering wins people have, I just do it quietly!
