fred_mouse: drawing of mouse settling in for the night in a tin, with a bandana for a blanket (cleaning)

This will be my last post for the month --I'll be back at the beginning of September, all going well. If any of you are going to either Worldcon in Dublin or Titancon in Belfast, I'd love to catch up!

But before I head out that door, my most recent bit of sorting through papers has cleared another waste paper basket full. I've moved almost all of the papers out of the spare room on to the desk, and there is still space for more! Still a ways to go, but I've pulled some items as priority when I get home again, so I have hopes of maintaining momentum.

But enough of me, tell me about your decluttering wins! Have you let something go? Have you made big changes, steady progress, small wins?

Have fun! I've sorted a mount of papers mostly off the floor, but that's about it for today. Did a little indoor gardening, too. In a couple weeks, I should have a batch of aloes to give away.

Well done on your progress and I wish you a fantastic trip.

Things are going slowly although I've started a bag and am putting clothes in as and when I decide they're going, so it's filling slowly. I've both pulled a few books to pass on and filled a box with books that I am dubious about, no longer sure whether I want to read them. My plan with these is to try at least one between each book that I finish and starting the next that I really want to read. Since Friday, I have read one book from the box completely and it's now going in a box to leave and tried three others that are leaving without me finishing them.

Having bought a new bag, two older ones can now go - 1 to the bin because it's falling apart and the other has been added to the donation box. I've also been finding out of date things in the kitchen and disposing of them - this will be a slow process both because of time/energy but also, due to how much I can/can't put out in the trash at a time. I've also been sorting things for recycling, making sure they are clean and ready for collection this week.

Well done on the papers and I hope you have a great trip!

I've got rid of two bags of trash (actually taken away) and a part bag of garden rubbish that was the result of a couple of sessions in the garden. Some books I decided I didn't want to read again have gone in the donation pile. And a little more stuff has been prepped to go in the garage (but not gone).

I've found a bin in our stash to use for a specific need, rather than rushing out and buying a new bin. Now that bin is no longer gathering dust, the items are together and organized, and the old cardboard packaging can be recycled.
