Weekend uncluttering
Nov. 11th, 2018 08:44 pmWhat clutter has caught your attention this weekend?
I've been a little inspired. I've had to move a desk so that a tradie coming in the next week or two can access a socket in the wall that we've not been using, and this has resulted in rather a lot of shuffling of bits and bobs (including the other furniture that was against that wall). I realised that a couple of my file folders were ready for thinning out, as we approach the end of the year. One of them holds all of the school related documents, and with Middlest having had their last exam, and only their graduation to go, I gleefully threw out many many documents I'll never need again!
I also sorted another two dusty boxes of papers. Threw out both boxes and about 2/3 of the paper. Some of the items are sorted as to What Next, but most of it is going to need a more thorough going over. Sadly, I got interrupted, so there are still piles of paper on the floor. And the last thing I've done is started sorting through a large pile of computer CDs. Anything with the most recent options of Mac OS 7 (or earlier!) or Windows NT was declared defunct, the CDs stored for a future project, and the covers cleaned up ready to give to the dance school. The pile is noticeably smaller now, which is lovely.

Date: 2018-11-26 10:22 pm (UTC)There's probably a dozen boxes, most of which are books. During the Move That Wasn't we got rid of our (old, hinky, paperboard) bookshelves and I haven't yet replaced them. That obviously puts a crimp in unpacking /o\
The project is to take everything out of the library, set up my desk somewhere I can get stuff done while the room is redone, and then paint the walls and possibly the ceiling so that we can put in new shelves and whatever else is needed.
I'm excited and nervous all at once.
