fred_mouse: drawing of mouse settling in for the night in a tin, with a bandana for a blanket (cleaning)

What clutter has caught your attention this weekend?

I've been a little inspired. I've had to move a desk so that a tradie coming in the next week or two can access a socket in the wall that we've not been using, and this has resulted in rather a lot of shuffling of bits and bobs (including the other furniture that was against that wall). I realised that a couple of my file folders were ready for thinning out, as we approach the end of the year. One of them holds all of the school related documents, and with Middlest having had their last exam, and only their graduation to go, I gleefully threw out many many documents I'll never need again!

I also sorted another two dusty boxes of papers. Threw out both boxes and about 2/3 of the paper. Some of the items are sorted as to What Next, but most of it is going to need a more thorough going over. Sadly, I got interrupted, so there are still piles of paper on the floor. And the last thing I've done is started sorting through a large pile of computer CDs. Anything with the most recent options of Mac OS 7 (or earlier!) or Windows NT was declared defunct, the CDs stored for a future project, and the covers cleaned up ready to give to the dance school. The pile is noticeably smaller now, which is lovely.

Not much, but I'm trying to sort some papers on my desk.

Weird things on my end: I have a box full of paints and such to take to hazardous waste. Sold that toy to which I found the missing piece last week, and gave away those weirdo wood valance pelmet things--that person found my ad and picked up within hours of posting it. GOOD.

Small donation box to the second hand store, one thing to the formerly-empty handmedown box, one thing to the donation bin.

I have about 5 more things listed for sale and several interested parties for one thing, but no one will get back to me.

On deck: Will work with eldest child to send a few toys along. I've asked for 2-3 toys to send along, not too much!

one buyer came through, thankfully. Makes me want to just leave stuff at the curb more!

Sometimes I put a thing on the curb and post the thing as free to craigslist, so someone has to ask for my address and come get the thing without having to meet up with me. I do that for things that aren't worth selling.

Wow, you've been hard at work! I've thrown out a pair of shoes and a pajama bottom, both had gotten ratty.

I've been hand mending Barbie clothes, which led to me organizing my thread and getting rid of a few more duplicate Barbie things. I hope to take some pictures soon and start selling my spare Barbie stuff online.

You've been working hard!

I came up with a plan that's going to force me to go through some of the remaining boxes. That's now on the ledger for this winter.

Thanks! It's coming along slowly but surely, and there's a Container Store in my future which should help somewhat, also.

There's probably a dozen boxes, most of which are books. During the Move That Wasn't we got rid of our (old, hinky, paperboard) bookshelves and I haven't yet replaced them. That obviously puts a crimp in unpacking /o\

The project is to take everything out of the library, set up my desk somewhere I can get stuff done while the room is redone, and then paint the walls and possibly the ceiling so that we can put in new shelves and whatever else is needed.

I'm excited and nervous all at once.
