Whoa, it's Thursday? What happened?

This week I've added two things to the handmedown pile and have pulled aside four toys to give away or sell. I have to make sure I have all the pieces to these toys first, which seems more difficult than I realized. Small pieces, big house.

How did you do?

Good luck with finding all the small pieces for the toys, so they can go to a new home!

My week has mostly involved weeding and pruning in the garden (finally, summer!), but I also put some more books in the book donation bin and shredded a pile of old credit/bank/other plastic cards.

I put some recycling that was on the kitchen bench/kitchen sink into the indoor recycling bin

I emptied the recycling bin into the outdoor recycling bin

I put some rubbish that was on the kitchen bench/kitchen sink into the rubbish bin

Good work on clearing the recyclables and rubbish from your surfaces and getting the recyclables outside!

Thank you!

I mean, there's still a lot more to do (I have a Mountain of Doom of rubbish/recyclables on my kitchen bench that built up in January/February/March when I was really exhausted), but it's a start...

Definitely a start! If you can just keep chipping away at it, I'm sure it'll get done sooner than you think. :-) And good that you're feeling less exhausted now and able to start tackling it.

Good luck finding all the necessary bits!

I finished the craft room clutter pile. \o/ Lots of it went back into the craft closet, some with the idea that it'll be date-tagged and if it hasn't been touched in a year, will be reconsidered. But fourish big crates are going out!

Wow, well done on finishing a tricky project and getting rid of so much stuff! And the date-tagging sounds like a great plan for stuff you weren't ready to part with right now. I hope you found a suitable way to celebrate and reward yourself!

Thanks!

I get to work on a long-anticipated project. Uh, does that count? XD

Oh, that definitely counts! I hope you really enjoy working on it, as you've been anticipating it for so long.

I just put a stack of old magazines by the door to go to the library's free magazine cart.

Mostly I've been working on an outside project, but also keeping at my usual resetting and trying to get a bit further with general pickup every day.

Resetting and trying to do a bit of extra pickup every day can be surprisingly effective! I hope the outside project is going well, too.

Yay for outside projects!

General pickup is good too. I've been trying to up my game there, but it's surprisingly irritating to do.

Eventually I'll get to talk about it, but not yet.

One of many organization books I've flipped thru recently basically had a challenge to 'do one better than you're currently doing'. Like instead of leaving TP in the car until just about time to need it, bring it in right away. Or if you bring it in, put it away. Or if you put it away, make sure there are rolls ready. Etc. So I'm trying to one-better as part of my general pickup and it's kind of working. But it is irritating, because a lot of what I need to pick up is stuff that doesn't necessarily have a spot to put it and then I have to think too much.

I like that. I've used something similar to teach myself difficult subjects: okay, what's current+1? Then go do that.

Maybe it gets less annoying with habit kicking in? :p As things get homes through tidying and organizing cycles, anyway. I'm hopeful

I'm bad a establishing new habits in general, so... hopefully? I'll keep my fingers crossed that with all the new things I'm trying, something will stick and work out.

Oh, I like that and will have to try it! Combined with a +1 routine, I should actually get things put away a little more often.

I got rid of five bags of paper bags, and one of plastic! No one needs that many bags except the school food pantry I gave them to. Highest and best possible use for them. And I have all that space in the kitchen!

Good move on getting rid of the bags, and excellent move on giving them to the school food pantry! I hope you enjoy all your reclaimed kitchen space.
