Late mid week check in
Whoa, it's Thursday? What happened?
This week I've added two things to the handmedown pile and have pulled aside four toys to give away or sell. I have to make sure I have all the pieces to these toys first, which seems more difficult than I realized. Small pieces, big house.
How did you do?

My week has mostly involved weeding and pruning in the garden (finally, summer!), but I also put some more books in the book donation bin and shredded a pile of old credit/bank/other plastic cards.

I emptied the recycling bin into the outdoor recycling bin
I put some rubbish that was on the kitchen bench/kitchen sink into the rubbish bin

I mean, there's still a lot more to do (I have a Mountain of Doom of rubbish/recyclables on my kitchen bench that built up in January/February/March when I was really exhausted), but it's a start...

I finished the craft room clutter pile. \o/ Lots of it went back into the craft closet, some with the idea that it'll be date-tagged and if it hasn't been touched in a year, will be reconsidered. But fourish big crates are going out!

I get to work on a long-anticipated project. Uh, does that count? XD

Mostly I've been working on an outside project, but also keeping at my usual resetting and trying to get a bit further with general pickup every day.

General pickup is good too. I've been trying to up my game there, but it's surprisingly irritating to do.

One of many organization books I've flipped thru recently basically had a challenge to 'do one better than you're currently doing'. Like instead of leaving TP in the car until just about time to need it, bring it in right away. Or if you bring it in, put it away. Or if you put it away, make sure there are rolls ready. Etc. So I'm trying to one-better as part of my general pickup and it's kind of working. But it is irritating, because a lot of what I need to pick up is stuff that doesn't necessarily have a spot to put it and then I have to think too much.

Maybe it gets less annoying with habit kicking in? :p As things get homes through tidying and organizing cycles, anyway. I'm hopeful

I read somewhere, and have since made it a habit, to never leave a room empty handed. If I'm headed to the kitchen, chances are there is a thing near me that needs to go there, or to a place along the way, and there's no sense in walking past it when it's on the way. If I'm going to pass the closet anyway, might as well hang up this jacket that's laying on the chair.
