Hello!  Tell us about your efforts, successes, and setbacks this week!

I have two things that I offered on fb that just need to be picked up.  I listed another thing for sale.  While moving some things around outside, I found some scrap wood to put in the trash bin--that area looks so much nicer now.  No one but me will ever see it but it is CLEAN!

Elder Child and I went through some art supplies and identified what can be given away.  I'll donate those, and some sandals, later today.

And I just added lots of school paperwork to the recycling bin.

Setbacks!  Time.  Spouse started going through some gear and it's still spread out.  I did pull something out of that pile to give away.  Everything else to declutter requires more time or effort than I am willing or able to give at the moment.  Deep decluttering isn't easy!  I've been coasting by on finding a thing while tidying.  Lots of things also require another person's input and you cannot force another person to get rid of a thing just because you want to declutter.

And those damn padded envelopes are piling up again.  They are out of sight, but not out of mind.  I do keep those in mind when I find things to give away and if shipping isn't too expensive, I offer to send things to friends.

Huh. I have run out of things to give away on facebook.

Time to dig deeper. I am now pondering my greeting card stash--this does get used at least twice a week, but some cards have languished. Time go gut it more. And deal with the kids' coloring books, stickers, etc. Those bins are out of control.

Be gone, all useless junk!

Halloween did not result in all of the tiny toys disappearing from the house. I can save the rest for next year and store it in the box with the decorations, rather than in a bag at my desk. Bonus: less chance of the kids discovering this stash when it's packed away in storage. They are constantly in the office and poke around everywhere. And next year, I can probably get away with buying one bag of candy.

I have about 10 padded envelopes left--part of the goal of giving things away on fb was shipping to friends using our giant stash of envelopes. I have bubble wrap ready to head out the door tonight. The shipping materials are officially under control!

This week, I will send a thing to a friend (hoping to send things to a second friend while I am there!), recycle 2 electronics cords, donate ONE thing to goodwill, hope to give a small package to a friend in person.

Now... does anyone need "happy retirement" greeting cards? No?
