How goes the decluttering? Have you shifted anything out of the house? Found something to sort through? Had thoughts on things you can let go of?

Comments open to locals, lurkers, drive by sticky beaks, and anyone I've forgotten to mention.

I've been getting a small box of extra whatnots ready to go to work.

Also took in two boxes of plants which were all successfully rehomed.

Four boxes ready to go for donation. One large box of books, a set of china from my past, a smallish box of movies, some clothes, and the rest is a bit of this and that. I've moved my music cd collection into a case that holds 500 cds and the case is about full.(That was a project. The cases that were in good shape were donated.)

At any rate, the job is not yet done. I have a lifetime of lovely things, that others might enjoy. I just need to spend less time thinking about it, and actually get to work on moving them onward.

Ooh, do you have a link or photo of the case you found? I have a large DVD and CD collection and want to move to a smaller, more efficient storage system. Putting all the discs in tyvek sleeves and then storing the sleeves in a case of some kind, but am having trouble finding the right size case or box.

Also, wanted to congratulate you on uncluttering so much. It is difficult to let go of beloved possessions, especially things like the china.

It was a gift so I'm not sure where it was purchased, but here is the amazon link, ungainly as usual.Oh dear, I can't post that link, and I cant remember how to shorten it. But just go to your country's version of amazon and enter CD case. I was wrong about the amount of CDs; it's over 400, 432 to be precise. it zips shut and the zipper seems a sturdy type that will hold up to a lot of opening and closing. I have filed each CD by band/singer and then album title except the misc. k-tel type albums which are clustered at the back and have the back section with all the song titles included slid in the cd pocket with the cd. It weighs over 15 pounds. I ended up donating the empty cases, and if they cant use them, well, at least I tried.

Thank you for answering! I'll just keep on with my search to find the right product. The one you have sounds like it works well for you!

The art teachers are asking for old clothes for middle school students to upcycle as part of their fashion design unit, so I brought in some sweaters and things that I don't wear any more but felt guilty tossing because they're still in pretty good shape. I hope they get a good second life as a 7th grader's design project!

Realised I was keeping a bunch of work related stuff[*] rather inefficiently. Rationalised the storage, freed up some space, put out a couple of empty boxes, moved some into the cupboard, asked if I still need to hold on to all the things.

[*] client-owned; I'm a remote contractor

Basically all I’ve left at the Giving Tree is some shaving cream and other stuff Mom didn’t care for, also a small pitchfork and some mosquito “doughnuts” that kills larvae in fountains and bird baths. At least I’m making a bit more progress in cleaning the garage. 😕

I also recycled a cordless keyboard and mouse at Best Buy.

It’s really Ridwell that I’m proudest of. I’m recycling an old shirt Mom finally decided to get rid of, two Styrofoam chests - one’s going in the orange bag since it has some other Styrofoam I’ve found while traveling (hopefully I’ll remember to tape up the bag.) - and some prescription bottles. Also managed to save a cordless phone.

Oh, and my neighbor’s talked about buying our electric snowblower.
