[personal profile] fred_mouse posting in [community profile] unclutter
I've been slipping a bit on the weekend posts, and I think I've completely failed to notice Wednesday's to do the mid-week uncluttering for multiple weeks. Given that the comm is now a bit more active when I started doing them, is there still value in having these regular posts? Is there something you would like better?

If we stick with the weekly/twice if I remember (or someone else does) posts, then I'm probably going to move to the style I've been using over at [community profile] bitesizedcleaning, where the personal section of the post goes in a comment.

That said, what have you uncluttered today?

On Thursday of last week I took 4 large boxes of books to a local primary school - they felt positive that they'd be able to use the majority themselves and would either pass the others (I warned a few might be too mature for their age of children and more suited to 'young adults') to the local secondary school where they have contacts or would put them into their own jumble sale next time they had one.
On Friday, I gave a bag of adult books to someone else.
Over the weekend, I've started a bag and have begun to fill it with DVDs that I've watched over the last week that I don't want to keep and books/audio books that I've finished.

I've purchased some new stackable storage bags that are going to work better for storing spare bedding and towels that the ones I've been using to date.

I've also turned down something that someone else wanted to buy me for Christmas and convinced them that it isn't something that I want or need (which is correct but normally I just agree so as not to offend).

The bonus of the things that have gone is that there is a little bit of maneuvring space in the spare room for me to sort some of the things in there with a view to them going - the downside is I've run out of boxes of a decent size to get rid of stuff in!

That's great! I'm always happy to hear about books finding new homes. I hope the primary school kids find some new favorites in your boxes.

And running out of boxes is a nice milestone in itself. Maybe a grocery or liquor store nearby has some spare ones for the next phase?
