Last night, I filled the trunk of the car and took everything I could to the Reuse Centre - 1 large bag of clothes, a box of bags, shoes and other miscellaneous bits, 5 boxes of books and Dvds. (1 and a half of the boxes were things that I had been storing for someone else, but having finally got them to come and sort through - turns out they only actually want to keep about 2 and a half medium sized boxes and the half one they actually want back at their own house at some point - I feel much better about this because now I can not only get rid of what they don't want, I can more appropriately store what they do - as in the 2 boxes can be sealed and go on a high shelf in the garage where they are out of the way, rather than cluttering up my spare room and stopping me sorting my own clutter - this is rather than five very large boxes that were next to impossible to move on my own.)
This still leaves me with a pile of about 6 different size boxes that are to go to another destination (school) but at least now I should have room to try and sort them for easier disposal - if I sort them by age appropriateness, then when I make another approach to the school, they can decide which age books they would like and any others can be dropped to the Reuse Centre shortly after. I also have a bag of bedding to donate but actually had someone express an interest in them and ask me not to take them to the Reuse Centre as they think they can use them or give them to a second person who would be grateful of them.
Feeling like I've done real decluttering now stuff has actually gone as opposed to my usual pretend decluttering which is where I just sort and pack it to go - LOL!
I now need some more empty boxes of a more 'liftable' size to start again.
