adair: (leaves)
[personal profile] adair posting in [community profile] unclutter
I did not get much done the past week; the Books to Prisoners book sale was last Saturday, and I worked on it for 3 days before. I was exhausted, and spent the week collapsed and going to deferred appointments.

I hope to get back in the unclutter game; starting with cleaning out my emails - there are over 2000 in my computer account. Some of them just did not get deleted when they should, but a good many are being saved; I need to decide if I really need to keep them. A lot are comments from back in the Mag7 heyday, when there was a email account devoted to it. I miss those specific email lists; so much easier to read and manage than personal accounts on DW or LJ, or the horrors of Tumbler. But I still have waaay too much email saved.

I plan to devote part of this weekend to clearing spaces in my bedroom piled with clothing and books. The chair and the cedar chest at the foot of the bed are just too handy to dump things I do not really have time to deal with, or want to think about. I have a bag started of clothes for donations; maybe I will fill it this weekend.

Good on you putting all that energy into the book sale! I can completely sympathise with collapsing afterwards.

I think all I've managed to do is resist the temptation to buy more shiny clutter. I've been doing shopping for birthdays and end of year gift swapping, and I feel like I've bought a lot of Stuff, but it has all been for other people, and mostly off their request lists.

I am always filled with admiration for how much work you do for Books to Prisoners. 3 days prep and then the sale? No wonder you're exhausted! (And books are heavy!)

Good luck with the email project and on clearing spaces in your bedroom -- that always makes me feel better.

After getting rid of some stuff from the garage at the tip/recycling centre during the week, I reorganised things in there. I found a few more things that I can get rid of in the next couple of weeks, and have everything else organised so I can get to the next stages of decluttering.
