Another introduction

Hi everyone!

I'm joining in the wake of rmc28 who is a friend of mine. I'm Felix and I have a huge, huge life-wide decluttering project going on at the moment - I've just gone through a pretty massive life change, and I'm slowly getting a very different perspective on the person I used to be and the stuff I used to have. I was brought up by someone who gave me money or gifts instead of spending time with me, and I'm now slowly trying to unlearn the habit of equating having Stuff with being loved. It kind of helps that I'm a lot more loved these days :)

So mostly I'd like to just watch how you guys do it and hope I can learn something about myself on the way. This year's going to be awkward Stuff-wise - on the one hand my grandmother passed away recently so I have no doubt there'll be a lot of mementoes coming in and maybe even some things I've inherited, but on the other hand I need to move house soon so getting rid of as much rubbish and mess as I can is a big need.

Hello!

I kind of see this group as like an alcoholics anymous for hoarders, and it seems to be doing me some good. After my kitchen-blitzing last week, I'm going to do the bathroom tonight.

I have to confess to not having had the brass balls to tackle my wardrobe yet, though...

I have... at least four wardrobes' worth of clothes.

Most of the spare ones are in boxes in the attic where I packed them up when my entire life turned upside down. I'm giving it a year or two before I even try to deal with that, because I know how many conflicting emotional attachments they have for me and I think I'm going to need all the sanity I can get. Other things first...

Yes, I meant wardrobe as in clothing collection, not wardrobe as in piece of furntiure

Yes I got that, it just dawned on me that if I actually did have a proper wardrobe there'd be about four times too much stuff!
