What have you decided to pass on today?

I've been clearing out jars from the cupboard, and adding them to the op-shop box.Really, I need to the that to the local collection point, and start a new one, but I think that that is next week's job. And I have two mechano sets that the kids have decided that they don't want anymore, so I have started looking for a home for those.

I removed one sale listing and added that thing to the donation pile. Added 2 new sale listings with low expectations.

When a child requested a specific accessory, I was able to shop my own collection, rather than buy a new one. One thing out of my closet and no money spent!

There's nothing better than shopping from your own stash (and knowing what's in the stash so you can shop from it)!

Oops misread that slightly and thought you were looking to rehome the kids! I suppose that's one way to reduce the clutter! Glad it was just the meccano sets though.

Does continuing to add books/dvds to the boxes as I finish them count, given I'm doing it continually? The only other thing I've done is shred one pile of papers (and fight with the shredder for even longer to unjam it), then sort through another pile, file all that needed filing and generate another pile of shredding (for another time - it was too late for the noise disturbing the neighbours by the time I'd finished - plus I couldn't face the battle - seriously I'm tempted to add the shredder to the donate pile and buy a hopefully better one - 5 minutes shredding generally produces about 15 minutes of unjamming!)

Have you tried putting a shredder lubrication sheet through the shredder? I find that using one every once in a while really does make a difference to the number of paper jams I get. (I linked to a brand I've used that worked well in my shredder, but there are lots of others available.)

I'd never heard of them - I actually think my problem is a design fault in the shredder but I might get some of these and try anyway (because they'll help if I swap this for a better one). From what I can see of the inner workings of my shredder the part that keeps jamming is right in the centre of the moving blades - where it appears to be fixed and unmoving and so the paper can't pass this.

I haven't got much out of the house, but I have been putting away or finding permanent homes for various things that have been sitting around on tables/shelves for Far Too Long. Definitely a case of "clutter = deferred decisions".
