What have you found to rehome this weekend?

I've been doing little on the uncluttering front. I've a basket of things that need going through and rehoming, but it has been sitting on the kitchen table for over a week, and I've done nothing but look at it. I have however used up some of my scrap fabric stash on clothing repairs, and I'm starting to think about how to reduce the pile down -- which fabrics are actually useful, how might they be prepped for quick use (there are a lot of trousers in there!). And I've reduced the empty jar stash again -- we've mostly come to the end of jam season, so the extras of a certain size can go elsewhere.

I have two heaps of books to mail to their respective buyers. I can't do that because—well, one, a dozen of the books one person's buying I can't fuckin' find (the Pierce are probably at Mom's? but I'm sure I saw the Wrede in this apartment?), but more to the point, where is my postal scale? I can't estimate media mail shipping to any destination without knowing the weight of the box!

I'm pretty much waiting on two particular envelopes to arrive before I ship off a care package, and then the care package's contents won't be here either.

And while there is a book I want in someone else's "free plus shipping" post today, I am not requesting it. not not NOT.

Movement! Which is great, because last week I did nothing. This weekend, I sent a thing to a friend, offering another thing, and will ship a third thing whenever I make it to the post office.

I sold my desk! I had just replaced it and am pleased it sold within 48 hours of being listed, and I got a decent price for it.

So much recycling. The garage has room again! And Spouse did the scanning, so as soon as we get a minute, there will be shredding--there's also no room in the bin this week for shredded paper anyway.

I read a book and donated it, along with those magazines I mentioned last week. Currently working on another book that I'll donate. I should finish it this week. Now I have to look at my shelves again to see if there's any other book on my read-then-give-away list.

I sold the toys at the consignment store, getting just a bit of money, but gaining room in the house.

A friend mentioned she is having a garage sale at some point, so I've started a small pile for her. I told her at this rate, I'll help her get a solid $10. Giving this stuff to her depends on when she can visit, otherwise, I'll have a trip to the secondhand store and a few more things to send to friends.

And I feel so good about my living space now. Today it hit me: there's space. There's less visual clutter, there's space for all of us. This may be due to having three desks in the office for three days and now we're down to the normal two desks.

I had to organize my daughter's books because I knocked the ones piled on top of a night stand onto the floor. I put them all on her bookshelves and found five to pass along. There's a Little Free Library nearby, so I put the books in it yesterday.
