How goes the uncluttering this weekend?

My weekend has been lost to napping (yesterday) and shopping (today). I hope you have all had more productive weekends!

Not much in the way of things going out, but I can see more of my kitchen counters than I have in years.

I'm surprised every time I see them! It's such an... impressive change!

That sounds like fantastic progress, whether or not things left the house -- good job!

I've removed all 'uncooked meat' from the freezer over the course of the last week and made most of it into meals (some of which have then gone back into the freezer but that's fine!). Have final set of chicken to use up today - making chicken fricasse. Does this count?

I've actually passed 4 DVDs and a book that were in the 'box to go' to a new home. I've also collected general rubbish and have half a bag full of things that are just to go in the trash. I shall continue to fill the bag until either it's full or it needs to be put out for collection.

I also emptied a bunch of jars from a kitchen cupboard that were well past their used by dates and washed and disposed of the empty glass jars. There are still a few more to go but I probably got just over half done.

Sounds like you've had lots of small victories in lots of areas, which is great. And are making made good progress in making sure that food in the freezer doesn't go to waste. :-)

I hope you enjoy eating the meals from the freezer and good luck with carrying on with the decluttering.

2 things to the donation box, 2 things to send to a friend today (I found another padded envelope and will use it today!), 1 thing to the curb (free or trash), and I will probably donate a chair. I bought it at an estate sale as a potential office chair and I don't think I like it. I'll give it a day at work then decide.

The chair will be donated. It's not quite right, but worth the $7 gamble.

Good job with the small but steady progress -- and finding a use for that padded envelope! And well done on making a quick decision on the chair.

I was out of town, but managed to visit a Container Store, and found a desk organizer. On getting home, one of the first things I did was stick all the loose paper, notebook refills, and other office-supply type things in the organizer, which fit in the desk drawer as if made for it. \o/ The things are now easy to access, off the bookshelf, and hidden from the cat sight. And like the book suggests, all in one place.

I want to figure out a better way to store in-progress projects, and some of the big acrylic bins I saw over the weekend may be just the ticket. But first... tidying the craft closet. I finished the project that was holding up the work, so there's no more excuses!
