What have you found to unclutter today?

Me, I have managed to make more clutter, not less, having bought yarn for a project (dammit) and four fabric remnants. Tomorrow though, I plan to find a pile of to do lists and turn them into one, throwing out the old ones.

I ended up sending packages to 3 friends yesterday, instead of the intended one! I have also offered a thing up on fb, though I don't have high hopes. At least it can be recycled if no one wants it.

I'm picking up some clutter/bookpiles around my desk, going thru the holiday catalogs that are already appearing and if there's nothing interesting, dumping them into recycling. It's not much, but it's a noticeable difference already anyway.

I cleared out a box of toiletries and put them away so I could bring my inherited cedar chest in. A lot of the box of toiletries got tossed, and several of the old clothes on top of it went to the charity bin (outgrown or no longer my style - no longer a kitchen worker means no more safety trousers!).

Well, the chest was supposed to have come to me many, many years ago, but aunts and cousins all fought me on it until I pulled the final ace of 'name sake' and went to my grandmother and great aunt and went around the aunts and cousins.
Finally, it's mine.
(Space issue has been that we moved into this house two years ago and hit the ground running with repairs versus unpacking.)

I helped my son open a large pile of weekly-posted comics, sort them into order and shelve. (We also put a reminder in his calendar to actually *read* them - after establishing he did want to, it was a matter of exec function.)

That was a big pile of envelopes into the recycling bin!

Have finished removing out of date food from the kitchen cupboards - There is now space to organise properly and also to reevaluate my buying habits. I also found a brand new lunchbag that I was given as a birthday or Christmas present a few years back but had never used - have passed it to my niece who is over the moon with her lovely pink lunchbag for school. Even when I do take lunch to work, it would have been impractical for my purposes so now it is being well used and making two people happy - me because I no longer feel guilty about not using it and feeling grumpy about the space it was taking up, and her because 'new lunchbag' and when you're six what more could you want!

I'm also working on ridding myself of a few books - this is slow progress as I'm reading or at least starting them before they go (starting to see whether they're worth reading in their entirety for me). Still it's progress. Also I'm classing as progress that I've dramatically reduced the pace at which I'm bringing new books home.
