Weekend Uncluttering

How goes the war on Stuff! in your domicile this fine weekend?(we've had sun! And warmth! And leaving the house without jumpers, and the like!)

I made a big effort to reduce plastic containers. We have a drawer for Tupperware/freezer/leftover containers, two shelves in a cupboard which are higgledy-piggledy with take-away containers and lunch boxes and water bottles and whatever else fits, and then the overflow on top of the microwave. Everthing came off the microwave so something else could be stored there, so something needed doing. I threw out many many containers/lids, rehomed some, and generally made things better. There are still some on the floor, because I want to work out whether we need them.

Youngest also used the top of a pair of jeans (previously worn through) to make a carry bag - actually looks better than expected. They were working to a pattern for a peg bag that a friend needs replacing, but that had been made out of the legs of jeans, and the side pocket was a bit larger than our friend wants, but the back pockets are just the right size. makes quite a cute messenger style bag!

Sold approximately fuck-all at the yard sale. I made $9. Let's leave it at that, while observing that the cost of the table space constituted a donation to the theater guild that hosted the yard sale, which is a wise and kind use of money, and also observing that overtime suuuucks. (The table space cost $10. As for overtime? I'll simply observe that last I heard, it was available yesterday, most likely from 8 to some on-the-hour in the 12-to-2 range.)

Mom said she and Dad will be unavailable the weekend their suburb is doing a community yard sale, but I'm welcome to come spread my stuff out on their driveway and try to make money appear and unwanted stuff disappear.

Tell Youngest well done! I did the same thing with my favorite pair of jeans when they became unwearable. I need to sew the clasp back on, again, but otherwise it's been an excellent, long-serving purse.
