Weekend Uncluttering

What did you find to declutter this weekend?

I spent most of the weekend out of the house, so all I've managed is to decrease the number of books I'm partway through reading, and the number of remnant balls of yarn lying around waiting to be knitted into current projects.

I collected things for the recycling collection later this week. That was it :(

Getting ready in advance, so you don't have to hurry later, absolutely counts as a win!

Turns out I'd got the wrong week - it's next week. It's the second Tuesday of the month (but only if the Monday is also the second Monday, in which case it's going to be the third Tuesday... *head desk*). Or I could claim to be just really really prepared?

I got my coffee table about 75% cleared off. And I made room for a new computer desk (and computer, once I get it set up) in the living room, but that was mostly shuffling things around to deal with later.

I really need to start cleaning the bookroom to make space for window installation in a couple of weeks. I'll definitely need some cheering for that.

Clearing off flat surfaces is always a win!

I poked about in three cupboards and found various bits and bobs to get rid of -- coathangers, a couple of bags and some household and gardening-related sundries. Haven't decluttered in those areas for a while, so they were mostly things that were kept last time "just in case", and I can now see are not likely to be used (or would probably no longer be usable and need replacing anyway.)

I now feel a bit better about all the (necessary) new things that have come into the house over the past couple of weeks!

Sometimes it takes that bit of perspective to be sure you can give things the old heave ho!

And all the sympathies on Stuff coming in to the house. It aggregates at such a rate!

not much. Took the box of things to a friend's garage sale, gave away some colored pencils. Gathered all the excess safety pins to give to a friend this week. Otherwise, knitting more yarn :)

Every bit helps. And the knitting of yarn is an important decluttering technique that I'm spending as much time on as my hands will put up with!

Lots of fingerless gloves! Using up inherited sock yarn scraps, or using up some DK acrylic. I'm on my fifth or sixth pair. I think I'll move on to something else soon.
