I just threw out a bunch of DVD cases! (Well- about 15. I don't have that many DVDs.) I kept some and tossed others, and the ones I tossed were all ones that didn't really add anything to the DVD except for the picture on the cover. So, I kept the case for Nina Simone Live at Montreux because it had an essay inside it about Nina Simone, and I kept the case for most of my TV shows because they're pretty. But I tossed everything that was just blank black plastic inside.
Maybe that will help you cut down on your DVD cases, if not get rid of all of them?
