We're coming up towards the traditional season of uncluttering!

I've been doing a little bit of reorganising spaces:
  • Replaced an under-bed storage box that was really hard to get out with a much easier one
  • Sorted out the contents of that box and the two next to it and moved some things around
  • Pulled out a bunch of travel or mostly-used toiletries from one of them to go ahead and just use up (most of them have been in there since well before I moved into this flat, which is... six years now)
  • Put a small storage box on my bedside table for pills etc so I stop knocking everything on the floor while trying to find the correct packet first thing in the morning
Also, on the digital front, some post-Christmas updating of catalogue spreadsheets with my new presents, before I shelve them, and clearing out of assorted emails that were waiting for me to do something with them!

Anyone else using the downtime before New Year to get some decluttering done?

I've got some stuff that needs to go, for sure. I don't have a lot of extra downtime but thanks for the reminder, I'll at least get stuff into the car so I can drop it off.

I decluttered my desk a little this week, lots more to be done, though.

I also ordered some storage baskets to do some organising next week. I know the advice is to declutter first and then buy storage solutions but I have been stuck at this particular point for months now. I think I need the baskets to see how much fits and whatever doesn't fit has to go then. Hope they arrive soon!

Oh, that cheers me up to hear about your kitchen!

I have some much needed decluttering to do in the kitchen. On Saturday, I did my shelf in the fridge. But I definitely need to do my shelf in the kitchen storage space, too. At least I already filled the other baskets constructively, with one other basket still empty but stored in a space-saving way.

I have some time off work this week and next, and I am looking to sort out my various "stuff" that needs to be moved out of the house, mostly. And go through the sheer number of boxes in my room and figure out what's even in them. It's weird how cluttered boxes existing near me feels.

we managed to move a large piece of furniture out of the front hall (where it has been patiently waiting for nearly two years) and into a friend's house, so now we have a teetering mound of Stuff! that had accumulated on and around it that needs sorting. But getting it out has made that space more airy, so that is a win on its own.

Such a good feeling! Thanks for the good wishes; hope that your uncluttering is also going well.
