weekend check-in

It's Friday, it's the weekend for me, and I've probably definitely got too many goals for it, but here's some themes and a check-in for everyone.

• ongoing decluttering - I actually filled our general waste bin last weekend, but it got emptied yesterday morning so I am free to declutter some more!
• getting things out of the house - I've built up several bags of donations now, so the trick is to get to the charity shop today before the usual weekend rush means they have to close to donations
• seasonal clothing - the seasons are definitely changing in this corner of England, and my clothing storage is ... not a full-on mess, but definitely showing entropy. So I'm going to do a little tidying and straightening and repacking, one area at a time (to keep from getting out of hand), and make it easier to find the warm layers now the mornings are colder.

For those wondering, no I still haven't found my important document, but the paperwork I need it for is the kind of "important but not urgent" task that means I'm not too worried but I'm using it as motivation to go hard at the house this weekend. I did find my long-lost Awn Elming pin last weekend though (shortly before filling the waste bin up).

My brother reminded me last night of the existence of the BBC Sounds app, and I love that I'm still listening to the same DJs I did 20-30 years ago, but now they're on Radio Two not Radio One. Sara Cox's Half Wower is a great way to block out 30 minutes on a task.

Oh, congratulations on making progress. Season change is definitely a good time to take a hard look at one's wardrobe. And how wonderful that you do have some bags for charity - I hope you are able to get there in time before they close the donations window.

And here's hoping you do find that reasonably important document soon. Sounds like you've got a good plan in hand.

I have sorted through my trousers and decided what stays in the drawer and what gets put in fabric recycling and what gets used as practice for altering trousers! And put away some of the summer clothing and linens an unpacked the winter linens.

Good progress! And thanks for the reminder, I brought in the seasonal clothes but I haven't gotten around to moving the other season back out.

This weekend looks to be busy with kid stuff, but I've come up with a scheme where the kid and I both only get a new book if we get rid of ten old ones, and she's got a stack of 40 to go out already...

My main goal for the weekend is to do a bit on the penpal crafting project that I have been putting off and that is sitting in the middle of the floor space of my room. I would also like to do 15 min of decluttering but I have not been feeling quite well so I don't know if I can even do both. Especially since I work the late shift tomorrow and thus have no time at all that day... Today, I have urgent things to do for uni so my only chance to get the decluttering tasks done is on Sunday. We shall see.
