Hi all and welcome to the weekend check-in. Last week I set myself an ambitious to-do list and er, managed three of them. But that's three more than none!

This week, in a flashback to January, I have tested positive from covid, am isolating from my family in my room, don't have any symptoms, and am considering applying the Dana K. White 5-step decluttering to the places I didn't get to in January. (For one room that I didn't think was that messy, I didn't get around all of it in January, and I pulled out a LOT of rubbish / recycling from the places I did tackle.)

One thing I have managed to keep up since January is keeping the places I decluttered free of new accumulating rubbish. I do a little pick up in here most days, usually when I get an hourly movement reminder from my fitbit. But there are plenty of shelves and stacks to go through still.

My husband and I tossed the children to our in-laws for the long weekend, and we did a huge decluttering. I did did the pantry and organized the fridge and freezer. And he tackled our disasterous basement. There's still a lot more to go for the basement, but he made a dent!!

We've had so little time to do it, and it'd gotten so bad because that's where we cram everything to keep the rest of the house clutter free.

I had a busy few days, so I spent part of Saturday sorting out the residue - putting away things I had abandoned for later, etc. Also catching up on the tragic washing up, which isn't exactly clutter except that it was covering most of the kitchen surfaces...

Today I went through the next bookcase; didn't remove very many books, but at least I've confirmed that I do want to keep everything on there. Also, again, left some space for future acquisitions.

I'm mostly focusing on the garden at the moment. This week, I've done some heavy cutting back of shrubs and also been digging weeds out of an area where I want to plant out courgette seedlings. I've got rid of one large bag of garden rubbish but still have quite a bit to get rid of. But... because the garage is now much emptier, I have room to stick the stuff I cut down in there until I can get rid of it (while still being able to get to everything else).
