Weekend report

I can't claim any responsibility for this decluttering: Eldest Child identified a whole laundry basket full of stuffed animals ready to send along, and another large toy collection.  Wow!  Youngest laid claim to one item, thankfully one of the smaller bits.  Some of the loveys are heading to the second hand store when I get to it, others have been offered to local friends.  I waited a week before offering or donating in case Eldest had a change of heart.  Now it's okay to give away and Eldest has more space in the bedroom for other activities!

Very cool progress!

I remember giving away my own stuffed animals, a few while I was younger, the rest except for one, when I was a fully grown adult and had been out of teh flat for a few years. Still surprisingly hard! So much respect for Eldest and Youngest to let go of (almost) all of them. :-)

I still regret giving away my Tiny Tears. At least I kept my Action Man and all the stuffed toys that I had as a tiny. The newer ones had very little sentimental value and were donated.

Yes, I felt similar about the newer ones, I mean, I used to love them but never as deeply as the only one I kept, my stuffed squirrel that I got in my "Schultüte", A German word which a respectable dictionary translates as, "colourfully decorated cardboard cone filled with sweets and small gifts, given to children on their very first day of school". I love that squirrel so much, it is still on my bed all the time. :D
