Weeks ago, I went through all my schooling papers and recycled most of it. I told Spouse about the project and left the bin with the remaining school papers accessible so Spouse could go through them.
Nothing came of it, so when Spouse cleaned up part of the basement, I placed the bin next to the desk and said "These are the last of the school papers to go through."
Nothing came of it, so this weekend, I told Spouse, "That bin of papers is all your school stuff. I know you're busy at work, but if you can go through on binder at a time, it'll help."
Spouse said "I thought those were YOUR papers and I was waiting for YOU to go through them!"
So... over a decade together and we STILL can't read each other's minds! No movement on the papers yet, but it's been a busy weekend.
