Weekend uncluttering

How goes the uncluttering this weekend?

I've been using up fabric scraps to repair cheap 'reusable' shopping bags -- horrid plasticky fabric that shreds surprisingly easily (extruded in some way, rather than woven, so a tear just shreds across if not spotted). At the rate I'm going, I might have to start repairing other peoples, but it will be a great way to get rid of scraps!

I'm in the middle of moving house so lots of uncluttering has been happening! (Nothing quite like moving to make you realise how much unnecessary stuff you've accumulated!) Two bags of clothes and a box of crockery (that came with the new place!) were donated this week. Also several bags full of rubbish and recycling have gone out this weekend.

What a great way to both use the scraps and keep the bags usable! They're probably more interesting to look at, too.

Yesterday I went through a box that contained things I had bought as gifts, either with no recipient in mind, or far in advance of the gift-giving occasion. I had also stored other random small items there over the years, and due to the out-of-sight, out-of-mind problem, most were no longer relevant for gift-giving, or useful. So I have about 10 items ready for the thrift store, and others now stored in better (I hope) locations.

That sounds like a cool project with the bags and the fabric scraps!

I'm about to head off on a long trip, so I haven't been doing much uncluttering apart from maintenance things like recycling. (Also not much cheerleading here -- sorry, folks!)

Instead, I have been... cluttering. AKA creating piles of things that need to be packed. Thankfully quite a few things have been put into suitcases and bags today, so it's all feeling a little calmer!
