I got 17 books out of the house this week; that is 32 so far this month. Slow but steady seems to be what I aim for. I'd like to clear shelves at a time, but clearly I can't move that fast in the book removal process.
I also continued entering books in my LibraryThing account. I have 3904 books entered so far; I have been a member since 2006, but not always entered everything I bought, or even finished entering those I already had. Getting most of my books there is part of editing what I keep; some are tagged moved on and entered in the Moved On collection. Others are sent away without ever being entered. I am working on the east wall of my living room, and tagging each book with its location so I can find it when I want it.
The latest shelf I finished has fandom-related books - Firefly, Serenity, Homicide, Blake's 7, Blade Runner, Buffy, Angel. There's a little space left on the shelf; I am saving it for other fandom books I find as I work up; I see Space:Above and Beyond up there, and Babylon 5, Beauty and the Beast, and Forever Knight, and I know Alien Nation books are somewhere. They may not all fit on this shelf, but at least they will be grouped.
Other decluttering has been fairly standard; look through the paper piles on the two tables where they accumulate and do something with them. The piles are not gone, but they are smaller and a couple of important things were found and dealt with before it became a problem. We are expecting heavy snow tonight and tomorrow. That means I will not have to go anywhere to do anything, and I can do a little more paper sort.
Excelsior!

Date: 2019-01-19 04:39 pm (UTC)I found six items of clothing to donate and one to throw away, I am also getting rid of an old rucksack that's starting to fall apart and about a grocery bag of miscellaneous "sentimental" items from a couple of boxes that were "too hard" to deal with when I last looked at them a few years ago. (What I'm keeping will now fit into just one box.) I also framed pictures in the frames I bought a month ago and added those to the shelves with the temporary picture display.

Date: 2019-01-19 07:50 pm (UTC)Sometimes just stashing things for a while, then looking at them again, helps in letting go. I think I go through some mental process about why they meant so much, and sometimes I can let one item stand for several. Congratulations on moving sentimental things on. Clothing too is sometimes slow, and finally doing some basics from a to do list, like framing pictures, adds to accomplishments. Great work!
