What have you found to recycle, rehome, or repurpose today?

I've made up two parcels -- one with Youngest's recently cut hair, one with a couple of Viewmaster reels -- which will get things out of my home and to where they will be appreciated. And I've advertised a pile of books, and had takers for about a dozen of them. Some of those need to be packed up to leave the house as well. Given that I have to go to the Post Office tomorrow for the first two parcels, might as well have a bigger pile!

Well, in packing up wrapping supplies for the season, I realized there's a lot of small pieces/damaged bows/short chunks of ribbon that have been around for many, many years and will never be used. They're all going in the garbage/recycling and it's making my supplies look much neater and I really know what I have~

Growing up, wrapping paper/bows would sometimes be reused for more than a decade and we've all finally hit the point of 'just tear it open!', it's okay to recycle and pitch stuff that's looking rough! But it was a long time coming.

I don't use a lot either. Friends and I pretty much just go the gift-bag-with-tissue-on-top route and reuse the gift bags so much that a couple of them have become running jokes. But a handful of giftbags and some tissue paper is so much easier to store than the whole rolls and bows and everything else...

I sold 4 boxes of things today, and then the buyer was looking around for plastic bins to put them in and I said he could have mine if he wanted, so he gave me an extra $10 for those, which was nice. So all the things in the boxes, plus the two plastic bins are out of the house and I'm so happy about that. And while I was there, I got a question from someone about something I have listed on ebay and I really hope this person buys the item.

Congrats on your progress. Just curious, but what do you do with your child's hair?

I got a CD/DVD binder for Christmas, so I've been putting the other half of my CD collection in it that didn't fit in the first binder. ;-) This freed up enough space for me to move my few remaining audio tapes to small shelves on my media tower rather than having them in tape drawers. I'll continue reorganizing the whole media tower. I'd like to move my CDRs to empty cases and put them in my now almost empty CD drawers.

I'm not sure what to do with the CD cases. I'll email some libraries and see if they need any, but if they don't, I will probably throw most of them away. I'll just keep a few if my spouse's CD cases break.
