This week felt like small progress, but as I start to list it, I've got lots of movement to report!  AND it's starting to be visible progress, which is further motivating.  I took a broken electronic toy to be recycled, dropped off two CFL bulbs to be recycled, took a bag of donations to goodwill, dropped of a small bag of textile recyclables, and put the broken snowblower at the curb with a free sign (and a warning it needs work).  I added two things to the new donation bin.

Current project: Cleaning out the pantry!  Spouse sees that we use up a thing, and tends to buy two replacements.  So the pantry is full and we can't find much.  So far we've emptied/eaten/consolidated several boxes of food.

My current read is Decluttering at the Speed of Life.  This might be worth checking out, if you are feeling overwhelmed at the idea of getting started!

I have gotten nothing out! I have in fact gotten things in that were supposed to leave my late uncle's apartment and go to other people. And, you know, I've gotten all the seasonal shopping all over everything plus the 4 child birthdays that happen between now and mid January.

I am hoping to do a massive clean out when family stuff settles down next year. So far the SU and I are keeping on top of having a clean kitchen and one clean sofa. Everything else is whatever.

I have made a lot of progress on the bedroom this week, but mostly I wanted to note that I fucking love her books and think they're totally worth it.

Yes, yes it does. I was also pretty happy to find out she has a podcast too!

Thank you for posting -- I was in airport hell during the only time I could have posted, and completely forgot about it.

Well done on everything you got rid of, and what a wonderful thing it is that the progress is starting to be visible. I don't think I uncluttered anything, except throwing out perfectly good food that was too hard to take on the plane :(

Most of it wasn't going to make it through quarantine, and there was more than I could eat during the trip. I really wish there were a good option under those circumstances that wasn't 'chuck it out'. I left it on the table when we left our accommodation, in the hope that the corporate policy wasn't to bin everything.

That book struck an amazing chord with me when I read it - both her container theory and the steps to react to the clutter. Clutter is my ongoing nemesis!
