weekend uncluttering

What order have you made out of chaos this weekend?

I triaged old clothes put aside for an upcycling project, converted two pieces into fabric yarn, and ditched several that aren't suitable for any of the projects or particularly suitable for anything else. The box they were in now closes properly!

Lots of progress, but it's not terribly noticeable. I gave away TWO boxes of handmedowns and TWO bags of handmedowns.

Sold and shipped two things. Got an interested party in another thing. I've taken a few things off the marketplace and will just donate them. I give up.

Donated a small batch of things. Got a small batch of textile recycling ready to go.

While cleaning out a cabinet, I found two wooden.. trim... valance... thingys for windows. Deciding on the best course of action to get rid of these. They are nearly perfect so I hate to throw them out.

Fabulous to hear of so many things! Shame that it isn't particularly noticeable -- I can completely sympathise on that one. With the valence (possibly pelmet? that is what I'd call it), we managed to get one on freecycle, so that is one way to move them around, if you have an active freecycle community locally.

My spouse and I took six large plastic bags (although not trash bag sized) worth of handmedown clothes and a few toys to our friends' daughter. I still have one huge bag of baby clothes to take to the thrift store sometime soon (these are too small for our friends' daughter).

Good going! So nice to be able to pass baby clothes on to others, given how fast they grow out of them (and how fast they get them dirty, too)

I've washed and filled a huge box with recyclable plastics ready to go to the recycling center in the nearest city.

I'm sending my Smash Hits 1985 Yearbook to a friend who would like it and have asked on one of my newsgroups if anyone wants my Ambridge jigsaw. Both will be out of the house in a couple of days.
