It's been a while since I posted a report, or did any real removal of items from my house. I may be back in action now. At least the temperature changed and I could at last trade summer shirts for winter shirts in my closet.

This is always a good time to edit what gets moved, and I took 2 summer shirts and 2 winter shirts for donation to one of several possible places in town. I still have more shirts than I will probably wear, and it is notable that I mostly wear older shirts, until they wear out. I keep trying to find new ones that will take their place, but I really like the looser shoulder cut of the late 80s-early 90s, and can't find anything with that cut now. The shoulder cut has improved in the last couple of years, but it is still not the classic camp shirt from 1990, with the straight side seams - not a fitted shirt.

This search for a fit and cut that I like has resulted in me buying a number of shirts I do not wear. Since I do most of my shopping from catalogs or online I am not always sure just how any new shirt I buy will wear on my body. Coldwater Creek sometimes has cuts that work; if I get something from them that fits the way I like it I make sure to write a favorable review. I am also planning to actually make a wardrobe plan for this winter; what do I wear, what don't I wear, how much closet space will I give to various items, and what do I need to keep for times I want something a little dressier than my standards. This all takes more thinking about clothes than I really want to do, but will, I hope, result in less crowded closets.

My next clothing sort project will be the armoire that holds my sweaters - too many, and again, some I have not worn for several years. Onward!

Good to hear from you again, and well done on using the change of seasons to donate those clothes.

I hear you on the frustration of finding clothes with the right cut/fit in the face of whatever current nonsense the fashion industry deems acceptable. Good luck with figuring out which clothes you want to keep and which you want to donate -- and I hope you soon see the benefits of thinking more about clothes than you want to!
