What have you put your attention to today?

I've put more energy into cleaning than into decluttering, but managed a bit of the latter on the side -- multiple empty cardboard boxes are now in the recycling waiting for bin day. And I have another pile of papers to sort through and throw out. I did consider just throwing them out, which is very tempting. Sadly, there is a risk that there are important to keep papers, so I have to go through them. But that is tomorrow's job.

Yesterday I took a bag of clothes I'd cleared out to the fabric recycling. The bag has been sitting around in my room for weeks getting in my way so it was good to get it out of the house finally.

Congratulations on defeating the cardboard boxes and good luck with the papers!

The charity donation bag I put outside didn't get picked up, so I had to bring it back in to wait for the next time I get a collection bag. :-( But I did take a book to the book donation bin, get rid of a couple of pieces of underwear that were starting to get holey, dealt with some garden stuff that needed a bit of cleaning and putting away, and had two 10-minute decluttering (aka weeding) sessions in the garden this weekend.

Shame they didn't collect your donation bag, hopefully you won't have to wait too long for the next visit. Well done on your other achievements.

I was really productive today! I cleaned up a bunch of my bedroom, refolded my socks/underwear box and put it in my closet, picked up a bunch of books, and sorted a ton of papers with a lot going into recycling. Threw away a few random things. Dusted a lot. I'm really happy with everything I got done.

I've been 'collecting' from around the house. The result was that on Friday, I took five bags of clothes/bedding/shoes to a Salvation Army collection point, a bunch of cardboard packaging that has turned up since last week's home collection, a few bits of glass, some old pots of paint, a box of 'metal' from the kitchen (old baking trays and the like that were past their usefulness and had been replaced but not disposed of), some bits of no longer useful wood/mdf to the recycling centre and a bag to a local charity shop of miscellaneous items. Since then, I also packed a very large bag and box with no longer needed files, filing trays etc to be donated to a local school. I have then packed three boxes so far with mostly a mix of books and DVDs and audio books with a view to going to a car boot sale - and have started another box with other items - no longer wanted ornaments/vases, shoes in near mint condition (the ones I'd donated were still in good condition but a little more worn - the ones I've kept to try and sell were only worn once due to unforeseen circumstances - one has a base that for some reason induces crippling pain in me - yet I know other people who don't seem to have that problem with them but not in the same size/colour, the other induced crippling back pain - hopefully they wouldn't do this to anyone else!). I also returned some containers to my parents that they had sent to me with various things inside (mostly food).

I've also begun to sort paperwork into 'to file' and 'to shred' and to gradually work through food/drink stuffs removing items that are out of date or approaching out of date.

I'd hoped to get through more over the weekend, but two successive days with migraines (Friday late pm and Saturday) have left me feeling shaky today and needing to get up early tomorrow to run some friends to the airport before I go to work, so yeah, I've not achieved much since, as I took it easy today.

Wow, that's a REALLY impressive list of thing out of the house!

Sorry to hear about the migraines -- I hope now they're gone, they stay away for a good long while.

Now posted in the right place... whoops

Delivered some things I sold (and collected the money). Otherwise, I was traveling so no decluttering!

I took two books to the Little Free Library earlier, then I got some garbage out of my basement when I got home. Tomorrow is bulk trash pickup day (apparently, the last one), so I picked up a box of books and science fiction and fantasy magazines while I was out walking. Whatever I don't want will go in the Little Free Library.
