This additional post brought to you by the fact that today I cleared out the fridge in the lunch area at work, threw out a small container of whipped cream that had been there since Friday week ago, a nearly empty yoghurt tub wrapped in a plastic bag that may well have been there for months, and a half empty plastic tub of dip with an expiry date of January.

I'm weirdly relieved to have them gone -- they've been stressing me about how long they have been there, and whether the person who put them there even remembers that they exist (work has had a round of voluntary redundancies, and many people have left; there are also people out on family leave). And I couldn't bring myself to throw the second and third items out the first few times I saw them, because I couldn't work out how long they had been there.
