What have you found to rehome today?

I got the kids to sort through the general percussion instruments, and whittle them down so that we had no more than would fit in the one basket (there used to be two). The good ones got kept, the cheap plastic ones will got to small kids for playing with

I'm struggling with motivation to stick with projects. I can spend a few days working on any room or project and then I just naturally wander off. Entire rooms would be done if I could stick with it.

That said, put away a bunch of vases that were gathering on the dining room table. I'll have to ask my boyfriend if any need to go back to his place, and I'll have to ask my mother the same. (I am not opposed to returning them re-filled with flowers, either.) I think flower vases are naturally migratory.

Other than that, I'm trying to drag books/media/etc. back to the bookroom. I pull out things I want to read/watch and then if I don't get to them, they sit as if they somehow require brain surgery to retrieve again. But I don't need entire multi-season shows stacked up when I can only watch one disc at a time, etc. So I'm going to try to just maybe put everything away at the end of the week and if I think I want it again, then grab it again, etc.

I have a similar problem with books and DVDs accumulating away from their home, but in the room I intend watching them in at the time (case in point, having just come to sit in the living room so I can work on a project - I've brought with me six DVDs - I do not have that much time - at most I'll get through two before I have to move room). I also gather a group of books that I think will be 'next' and then read a couple of them before repeating the process. I do hit them all and return them after a while, but a little more discipline earlier would save me having to return them!

A couple of dried up glue sticks, some out of date receipts that aren't needed for credit card checking as they were cash, a DVD passed on and a couple of books added to the 'to go' pile. That's this week as opposed to today, but it's still out. Coming in this week were 4 DVDs from the charity shop and a book that my mum gave me (I passed on the one from my Dad as I'd already read and not enjoyed it). I'm not too worried about the incoming DVDs as I've got rid of plenty recently so it's fine to add a few to the 'waiting to be viewed' pile, particularly as I envision most of them being a 'watch once and pass on', similarly with the book - more have been going out than coming in and this doesn't look like it'll be a keeper (I'm not even sure it's one I'll get the whole way through, but it's worth a try).
