What have you found to rehome this weekend?
I've been a bit ruthless. I've found it a bit stressful, but I've thrown out over two reams of paper, including quite a lot of 'scrap' paper. I figure I'm unlikely to make use of all the scrap that I've got, and even in the unlikely case that I run out, I'm sure I can source more. I do know people who work in universities and government departments, after all. Some of the papers I've thrown out are parenting resources that came from my teaching degree, more than 20 years ago. Yes, some of the info is difficult to get, but really, I don't have any use for information on the developmental sequences of the pre-primary child.
And I've found a home for the bookshelf! I have to hold on to it for a couple more weeks, but have promised to deliver it to the classroom of a school teacher friend.
Other details -- Youngest has been clearing out files ('tis the beginning of a two week school holiday); I've cut up a shirt to make t-shirt string; I've planted out the plants I bought yesterday so that they haven't become mush on the kitchen counter. I know, not actually decluttering, but at least pre-emptively doing something so that useful didn't become clutter.

Date: 2018-04-15 01:58 pm (UTC)My mother's laptop didn't make it back this weekend, so I'll have to figure out where else to put it. On the floor next to my desk is NOT a good spot.

Date: 2018-04-15 02:42 pm (UTC)I found another 15 books to go to the donation bin, plus going through some of my stationery produced some electronics cords for the electrical waste recycling and a few things to be thrown away.
And I finally got to do some serious "decluttering the garden" -- aka weeding -- as spring and some decent (dryish) weather has finally arrived in my part of the UK!

Date: 2018-04-23 11:00 am (UTC)I hear you on the weeding. We've just had our first big rain of autumn, and there are now weedlets all over my veggie patch.
