Friday Report
Feb. 2nd, 2018 12:02 pmI continue the effort to remove 500 books. So far in February I've moved 15 books on; add that to January's 32 and I have moved out 47. Not quite 10 percent, but it's a continued effort.
I've been writing a packing manual and a manual for our postage program. I had stacks of drafts around, all with notes and recommended edits from the people I asked to read and comment. One of these is a former copy editor - interesting things she does. She dislikes the use of dashes, like the one I just typed. Anyway, I just stacked all the drafts and comments for the finished manual, and got rid of all but the last edits for the postage manual. Clear space, and a batch of paper to turn into scrap for notes at the B2P workroom. The paper went into my bag to take to the workroom on Tuesday, along with books.
This weekend I plan to get all my tax information together to see what I lack. I think I still need my investment reports; they tend to show up in early February. I also need to move older records from my bank account notebook; I can't get statements in it anymore. Some day, but not soon, I need to get all my old bank statements together, including the older ones stashed away, and consider how long I really need to keep them.
February seems to be the time to organize and edit financial records; tax prep certainly drives the need to look at all of them.
