Weekend Uncluttering

How has your uncluttering gone this weekend?

After the prompt about dealing with what other people see, I did nothing in the front hall, instead looking at the kitchen with fresh eyes. And so, all the assorted bits of paper that were stuck on the pantry door have been taken down. One special piece of kid artwork got put in the 'memories' drawer, one useful list* and one useful cleaning hint pulled from a magazine were put back, and multiple pieces of paper went in the bin. It looks so nice! I need to go over it with the orange oil, but that wasn't happening today (I spent three hours cooking, and then we went to a picnic with friends).

I always find removing that sort of visual clutter can make a huge difference to my mood - I hope it did the same for you.

I finished going through the boxes in the spare room, finding a few more things to dispose of (trash/recycle). So the spare room is "done" for now. Given it's been the dumping ground/disaster area pretty much since I moved in, many years ago, that's a huge improvement, if not a very visible one!

And I have a resolution (it's a more general one for every part of the house, tbh) to not just shove things in there (or anywhere) with the idea I'll deal with them "later", but to deal with stuff properly now.

I am so pleased with my shiny pantry door! Yes, it is making me cheerful, although it is surrounded by Disaster! because the teens have been responsible for the kitchen for six weeks, and have at no point succeeded in getting it to my standards.

Congratulations on getting your spare room done, what a fabulous achievement (if if only done for now). And I admire your resolution to deal with things now.

You're welcome. It is surprisingly useful, even for the members of the family without chronic physical/mental health issues.

Got a bunch of tidying done in my bedroom, including sticking a lot of recycles and a lot of trash in their respective bags. These have not made it out of the apartment yet, but it sure is a lot less cluttered at that end of the bedroom now!

Yay for much less cluttered! I hope that the necessary motivation/energy/opportunity to get it out of the house happens promptly, and you get the satisfaction of seeing them gone.

Some progress. I recycled 3 small electronic bits, gave away a duplicate book, combined lotions into a single container, sent along a fb giveaway, and condensed bins in storage which freed up a large bin.
