What have you found to set free this weekend?

I'm not sure whether I found anything new to rehome (although what I'm going to do with Youngest's old pair of school shoes now that I have bought them a pair that don't have holes in the soles, I'm not sure -- they look to be in good nick other than that, but I'll have to find out whether they are repairable or not), but I did manage to hand on several previously identified items to their new (temporary) homes. So have a small section of the temporary shelves clear again!

This is my first quiet weekend in, oh, a month or so, and to be honest I just didn't want to do anything. I did clean out the fridge, though, and I've been going thru some old notebooks. I've been pulling out partial stories and notes and putting them in one big binder so I can find them when I want them~ Aside from some finished stuff going into the recycling, not a lot going on there either, but it's definitely going to make it easier to find bits of writing projects when I want them!

After New Years, Xmas, movie nights, etc. for like the last four or five weekends, I'm just exhausted! I finally had a little stress/emotional break last night that I've probably needed to have and am putting myself back together.

I hope you can find the motivation you need.

Mostly, but not entirely. I definitely had some people who did not understand 'I'll get on that first thing Monday, but I've had a very busy last few weeks and need to chill'.

(And I'm still doing my shelf-a-day-- which today was a closet rod and four pairs of pants are bagged up to go! All the empty hangers are now nicely at one end, too.)

5 DVDs and a jigsaw, and a few odds and ends have been put into either the bag or the box for donation. I've also found a few used batteries which have been put to be recycled (will try taking them with me tomorrow and dropping them into the battery recycling point near work). Have also rinsed a few things to go out with the recycling collection on Tuesday. So nothing huge, but a few small pieces.

I'm intending to get some work done on this bedroom.

oh man. I reorganized my knitting needles and managed to give away a needle case and TEN sets of needles. Eight sets are gone in the mail, the last two will be picked up today. And I'm down to my last five or so padded envelopes! I plan to clean out the rest of the knitting tools soon with potential to give more away.

I was ruthless with the needles. Those were duplicates or sizes I admitted I'll never use again and some were in the original package and others I'd unpacked but never used. Everything is organized so I know what I have and chances are, I'll have what I need.

Also dropped a box off at goodwill and recycled 30 or so unusable CDs. It was a good declutter weekend. I have another box I'm working on for a secondhand store, but I need to wear some clothes so I can decide if I like how they fit to keep them or donate them. I'll probably drop that box off in the coming weekend.

Good job! I dread dealing with my craft stuff but when I do, I hope I have good luck rehoming what I realize is going to be the large majority~

Unfortunately, I think that sort of just falls into the category of 'expensive ambitions/expensive lesson', alas. And I know that feeling well.

It does help that all of the needles are going to beginner knitters or knitters who have lost their needles in personal crises. I'm like the needle fairy!

Oh man, good job with those needles! I'm currently in the middle or organising ours, actually, and other than tossing a couple of broken things I haven't had any luck in finding anything to get rid of. To be fair there's two of us using them, and we both do a fair amount of Hey I Have This Yarn Let's Find A Random Pattern knitting, so variety and duplicates are actually useful sometimes. Still, actually being able to identify things you're not going to use and giving them away is PRETTY EPIC! :D
