Lots of movement this weekend!

Spouse dealt with the shredding and put it the bag of bits in the recycling, as well as dealt with the messy shelf/landing area for random stuff. That makes the office look so much neater. Spouse is still working on the pile of magazines to read then recycle.

I have a handful of clothes and a chair to give to a second hand store today. I shipped a thing and a box of handmedowns this weekend too. I have about two boxes' worth of handmedowns ready to go, but the recipient isn't near ready for them.

Nothing left the house from this exercise, but I worked with the kids to rotate toys out of the play areas. Now those toys are packed away until the kids are bored with current toys, then BAM! Free new toys. I hope to get a few more toys rotated out, using the bins I've recently emptied of outgrown clothes. Now the toys in the living room nearly all fit into their respective baskets.

How did you do?

Congratulations on the tidying!

My weekend went excitingly well uncluttering-wise.

I cleared and dusted the top of the wardrobe.

I went through some boxes of sentimental stuff and condensed them down by either putting things in bags for charity shops or putting them in bags for the bin.

I got the children to go through their toys and decide which ones they've outgrown enough to give away.

Result: five big bags for the charity shop and one for the bin. \o/

Yay for tidy looking study and a living room where the toys are under control! And congratulations on getting so many things out of the house.

On the way to the airport last week, I took the spare suitcase and most of the items that were waiting in the front hall, and it looked so nice when I came home to it. I also handed over a large pile of books to a friend while I was travelling - so many that my suitcase was ~4kg lighter on the way home, despite me having bought several books and a pair of Doc Marten's (second hand, worn in, really really cheap) -- this last counts as something off my bucket list, so not exactly decluttering, but still achieving something I hadn't expected to.

Isn't it lovely when you come home to a nice empty space? Sounds like you made the most of going to the airport (and visiting your friend) and did some thoughtful purchasing while you were away.

I'm always surprised at how spacious my house feels when I get an area of clutter squared away. I can't keep it that way, but I do love it!

And the visit to the friend (as well as the one I gave the books to) was a good one.

Hooray for all the sorting and for getting things ready to leave the house -- that is a big part of the battle, even if it's important not to get stuck on getting them out of the door.

I ditched a handful of envelopes when I tried to use one and realized that they were all so old the glue had gone on all of them. I also took a dozen or so books that I sorted out a couple of weeks back to the book donation bin. So now I have the space to create another donation pile. :-)
