fred_mouse: drawing of mouse settling in for the night in a tin, with a bandana for a blanket (cleaning)

I completely missed Wednesday's post, for reasons that mostly had to do with trying to decrease my online time, so this report is going to have a full week's worth of rambling on decluttering!

Tuesday, I upended (carefully) a washbasket full of papers and bits that had been cleared off the kitchen table some weeks ago. About half was quickly dealt with and binned, the rest has been stacked for later. Thursday/Friday I read enough of three books to know that I wasn't going to keep them (I did finish one), and then Saturday I passed them to a friend. Saturday, I looked at the shelves in the lounge (one of those IKEA ones made of squares) and grouped like things together, and then filled a washbasket with items to show to the kids, to see whether we want to keep any of them. And today I drank the last cup of the very tasty, interesting, but not replaceable tea, thus emptying up a space in the tea drawer (goal: tea drawer ~ 2/3 full).

Somewhere during the week, I pulled out a box of incomplete craft projects, and Saturday I sat long enough to finish one of them! It needs blocking, and then taking to recipient, but it is done!

What about you? What one thing are you setting free today?

My apologies for missing Wednesday also - I didn't get home until 10.30 pm and was utterly exhausted - I turned the laptop on and fell asleep on it!

Anyway, progress has been slow - I finished up three books and got rid of them. I've been poking in kitchen cupboards while cooking and getting rid of things that are waaaay out of date (2014 cumin!!! Fortunately I had some that was still in date). I've also emptied and rinsed out a few containers that have then made it to the recycling and as I was tidying some clothing drawers this afternoon, I've put on one side two pairs of trousers to go. I also saw a sweat top that may also go - I know if I pull it out, it probably doesn't fit anymore but I did quite like it when it fitted. The question is how long (if ever) before I'd be in a position to get into it again...

Oh yeah, I also acquired a new set of bathroom scales this week - so I guess that means the old inaccurate set should go out too. There may be more 'stuff' heading out before the end of the day - I am still trying.

Just added another pair of trousers, a top and the sweat top to the bag to go and found a few bits to go in the trash - just left over tags that had accumulated and some odd non-important papers.

Not much yet. I was traveling for the last week, but I've identified several things that can leave this week. One thing is currently offered on fb for sell, might have to put that on Craigslist.
