I'm continuing to deal with the DVD collection by watching and deciding 'keep or go' with each one (I have three bags for their proposed destination after I decide they're to go and of those watched so far, I've got approximately 1/3 kept to 2/3 gone which isn't too bad and of the newer ones acquired since October I haven't kept any of the ones I've watched so far and I've watched just under half of them. Before anyone thinks I'm very extravagant and wasteful, almost all of the 'new purchases' were from charity shops so minimal cost - I've decided to look on it like 'renting' and it's cheaper than paying to rent from certain large organisations that I shan't name, plus I'm helping a charity and then I give most of them back so they can sell them again - the ones I haven't watched yet are the ones I'm expecting to be keepers!) and using up toiletries. I've also collected up no longer used/out of date medications and taken them to the pharmacy for disposal.
I have collected up the used batteries but need to actually take them to the recycling unit near the bus station. I've also collected 5 old telephone directories (how I managed to end up with 5 out of date ones and this year's is beyond me!) - these will be given to a friend who works in a school (if they're recycled through the schools, the school gets money for every 100 they collect - if I recycle them as an individual, nobody gets anything)
