adair: computer (computer)

I've not done a lot this week - at least anything that shows. I took about 7 months of Harpers to B2P to see if the jail library wanted them; probably not, but they moved out of my house. Today I pottered about, in between reading, and tossed last year's program listing for the Virginia and Krannert Center.

I started looking though the reference shelves above the desk B's laptop sits on. Not much left as of yet, but I have started thinking about it. We are talking about getting a desktop iMac for the big retina screen. B would really like that, but that big screen will cover a lot of the bottom reference shelves, so some rearrangement, and possible discarding, needs to be done. This is really a big decision, not only for space and cost, but B's laptop uses Snow Leopard, and mine uses Lion. If we buy a new iMac we will have to deal with Sierra, about 5 or 6 OS generations on from what we are used to, with a Lot of changes. I am the computer person in the house, so I will have to be doing all the work, and researching all the problems, and figuring out how to add a DVD drive, and how to use iTunes that is many generations beyond what I like.

So I may find myself with more computer organizing challenge than I really want to take on. I will really need to clean up all my documents on that laptop and make more decisions that I have been letting go. Deep breaths are needed.

Digital clutter is still clutter. I've been cleaning out my laptop too and it is hard. Sitting still, staying focused and not playing on DW.. Keep going!
