How goes the decluttering? Have you shifted anything out of the house? Found something to sort through? Had thoughts on things you can let go of?

Optional extra, for those doing the low key January challenge: how go the hobby spaces?

So, the hilarity of the looking with fresh eyes at the hobby spaces is that I worked out that I had a stack of clothes hanging on a hat rack in the corner (I also found the favourite hat that I had managed to lose). I have not worn most of those clothes in most of a year, but I was so pleased to find them, because I really didn't want to have to buy more. I suspect several items are going to be rehomed -- I've already determined that I hate one of the skirts, because the waistband is Wrong, so at least I've made a start there.

Going through some of my books to see which one's I wish to donate. I'm donating some stuffies because a friend's moving in and he has a dog, so I don't want it to accidently mistake them for dog toys.

So the rest of the day will be checking to see if Mom returns from the hostipal, seeing if our friend moves in today or later in the week - he'll assist me in taking care of Mom, washing laundry and the dishes.

I've thinned out some of the D&D books that I never refer to physically, and dropped those off at a second hand charity bookshop today. And I'm slowly working through DVDs that I bought to watch and watching them so I can decide whether to keep them or pass them on to charity shops.

I still have two bags waiting to be taken to a charity shop because it's been snowy and icy all week and not safe to go out for lunchtime walks.

One thing I'm proud of is I haven't brought more clutter into my home this holiday season. No new decor (other than some paper stuff I've made), no dust-collecting gifts, just stuff we'll all use and enjoy.

Also got rid of a bunch of bath/beauty stuff nobody uses.
