In:
1 pair awesome spring-loaded dressmaker's shears (since I will be living in a different state from my partner for a year, I can no longer share his scissor collection; I may give these away at the end of the year)
1 desk for sewing (very exciting! Has drawers for better organization of supplies)
Out:
1 envelope medications mailed off for disposal
A bunch of old vitamins and supplements
1 table
2 chairs
Net:
-9 -3 = -12 (still doing much better by volume)
I haven't formally tackled the kitchen yet, but I did throw out some inedible stuff from the fridge and freezer today.
The desk and table/chair switching is part of my ongoing effort to optimize furniture for our apartment space--we will be trying to sell our other round table and hopefully replace it with a rectangular one soon, and we will probably also look into replacing our remaining chairs with more compact ones at some point. When I get back I will probably be replacing most of the furniture in my room with more compact furniture so I can squeeze a small desk in.
