I am finally getting myself back into regular household maintenance and a little uncluttering. Three weeks ago I want to a Books to Prisoners national convention in Boston. It was great, but exhausting. I had not flown commercially since the 1990s; it has changed a lot. On the way back my plane was late getting into Boston, which meant it was late leaving. I was nervous throughout the flight to O'Hare, since my connection had a 56 minute layover before the plane was late. Of course I missed it; the next flight was a 8:45 the next morning. Nine hours hanging out in O'Hare, trying to sleep on some peculiar chairs, with some of the AA employees riding the baggange carts at speed through the hallway - it was an experience that left me tired, and unwilling to do much more than lie on my couch and read.

Anyway, I have finally recovered, and have worked on moving banker's boxes of books collected for prison libraries. I cleared the piles of clothes out of my bedroom chair. I started sorting the coat closet; pulled out some light jackets that need ironing, contemplated what to get rid of - difficult, because Central Illinois has a range of seasons and they change frequently, and I have too many jackets I am attached to even if I don't wear them often. I also have my mother-in-law's mink coat. I can't wear it and don't really want to, but I am not sure how B. will feel if I get rid of it. It takes up valuable closet space, so something must be done. Why are some of these decisions so hard? So the coat closet is my project for the next week.
