adair: work with care (careful)
[personal profile] adair
It's been a mixed week. I moved more books on; my January-February total was 66, and I took 6 to B2P yesterday, so I am at 72 - not bad. None of this shows, of course, but I know it happened.

I bought some new storage containers for the kitchen cupboard where I keep a lot of dry foods. I added 6 and took out 4. I replaced some varied containers (and two plastic bags) with carefully chosen OXO Good Grips POP containers. They stack, are not round, and I picked those that just held what I needed to store, like a bag of lentils and one of yellow split peas. Perfect! I am planning the others I will buy to hold flour (I don't keep much), soy flour, bran and xanthan gum for low-carb baking. The old containers are going to the garage to hold various nails and screws and drill bits.

I've been cleaning up files stored on my iPad as pdfs and moving them to my computer. This requires emailing them so I can then save the pdf to my download file to sort, and then delete the one in iBooks on the iPad. It's a little fussy, but I do not want to sync everything to the computer, and I have been unable to find a way to drag-and-drop. I bought iMazing, which is supposed to let me do that, but it did not work for me, and the help people at iMazing could not figure out what is going on. I am using iOS 10, and am leery about upgrading the iPad to 11 for a number of reasons, but I may consider that if it would let that major feature of iMazing work for me.

I am packing two boxes of books to haul to a garage across town to await a 3Rs book pickup from prison librarians. These do not count as books removed from the house unless the actually came from my shelves. I do a lot of book gathering for 3Rs throughout the year; they take up space, but are not my books for me to read. The only book in the box that counts now is The Limousine Liberal I bought last year. It is leaving for the edification of people who cannot yet vote.
