What clutter has come to your attention today?

I've been putting off dealing with my sewing pile, so I'm off to spend a good few minutes sorting through and determining what is in there that I want to fix *this week* and then either rehome or start using. Goal is to find seven things that will each take 5-10 minutes of work, and spend an hour fixing them on Saturday.

Sounds like a good plan for the sewing pile -- I hope it works out.

I haven't done any decluttering, but I did go through the folder where I shove papers that need to be filed and organised it so that (hopefully this weekend) it will be easier to do the tedious step of actually filing them all into my master files. That should see quite a few bits of paper go into the shredding pile, as there's a lot of "this year's paperwork" for things like insurance.

I'm cleaning out my daughter's future bedroom. I should have done this a long time ago, but life got in the way. We hope to buy her a bed soon and we haven nowhere to put it right now because that room has been a storeroom for 11 years. So I started with her clothes. She's growing out of most of her 3T clothes, so I washed all of the 4T clothes and put those away. Then I bagged all of the 3T clothes in two bags: one to try to sell in my next yard sale and one to give away to our friend's daughter.

I need to move several pieces of furniture out of my daughter's room, so I need to make room for those in other areas of the house, We will be donating the last of my mom's holiday decorations tomorrow, so that will clear a shelf in the basement that I can move a big storage container with drawers full of craft stuff to.

Late reply, sorry. I somehow forgot to put this comm on my subscription list but have remedied that now.

I have recently decluttered my makeup as well as the makeup I received from a friend who decluttered. The result is a small plastic bag full of things to throw away. I have also decluttered my bin with crafting products. I have two things I am getting rid of from that bin - a box of many crafting glitters plus a tool set for carving rubber stamps. Those two will go into a local give box when I next pass by one. I am looking forward to moving all those things out of my room! Decluttering feels so good. Next up are my desk drawers. I have three and they are all stuffed full.

Yeah, at one point, probably after my mom died unexpectedly eight years ago, the stuff in that room was piled to the ceiling because I had to cram most of the contents of my mom's apartment into my small house. Granted, the ceilings are low upstairs, but still, the room was packed to the gills. I've been cleaning it out off and on for quite a few years now.

Ugh, I know. At least we have a friend to pass along the outgrown clothes to, but she doesn't live close by, so I have to store them until April.
