What have you found to rehome on this final weekend of 2018? I went foraging in yet another box of yarn, this one in the craft storage area, and pulled enough out to half empty it. I've used up two balls already, and figure that I should be able to use up the rest by the end of January. Which might mean I'm just about at the point of being able to move yarn out of the spare room, and into the craft storage. Probably not all, but some.

Good on you for reducing the yarn stash and doing good in the world! (You're making donatable squares, I think?)

I framed some more photos, so the photos and the frames are no longer clutter. I also measured all the unframed photos I have left to work out what size frames I still need, and ordered some of those.

In general, things have been coming into the house for the past couple of weeks. All carefully thought out purchases that I've known for weeks or even months I'll need -- but I still feel a bit weird about it! So time to get back to getting things out.

I went through a cupboard that I'd largely decluttered a while back and found a picnic bag that I'd evidently kept for "fantasy me" and a life I'm just not going to lead. (I have other options for picnics!) I also found one item of obsolete electronics and its box, as well as a box for something else that I'd kept for far too long. (This was before I got much better about only keeping boxes until I was sure things worked and I was past the date to return them.) I also threw out some socks that I noticed had worn thin enough they were likely to get holes the next time I wore them.

None of it has actually left the house yet, but it's ready to go! I also have some ideas for other things that can leave (a couple of items from the same cupboard that I put back but, on reflection, should ditch, and some stuff in another cupboard.)

Congrats on your yarn progress! I'm probably about due for a review of my yarn stash.

I'm continuing to work on going through books. I found a few I had no idea I had ever acquired! I skimmed those quickly and added them to the to-donate pile, about a dozen books going out the door this week.

In various cleaning, I've donated a thing to a secondhand store and have another box to donate later today--added 2 things to that box today. I've listed 3 more things to fbmarketplace and will meet buyers for those things today--and if they flake out, I've had plenty of interest from other buyers. No doubt I'll sell those things.

Nice work on the books! I don't think I've ever found any I don't remember acquiring (although there were quite a few where I don't know why I kept them so long).

And good luck on reviewing the yarn stash.

Nice work on finding things to donate as part of cleaning. :-) And good luck with the fbmarketplace items -- I hope all your buyers turn up today to take them off your hands.

One thing I've learned is that I'm almost never truly "finished" with an area like a cupboard -- there's almost always something that I wasn't ready to part with on the previous occasion that I can see this time should go. But yes, it's reassuring that I'm probably being ruthless enough, but not overly ruthless!

Good on you for using up your yarn stash! I've thrown out a jeans that had gotten threadbare and gave back some books that had been borrowed to me. I also took a magazine and two books to the library flee market where someone interested can pick them up.

Yesterday I got rid of 2.5 27 gallon bins of broken appliances and some good 50 pounds of clothing. I thought I'd failed when I went to the small appliance recycler only to find them closed, but then when I was dropping off the clothing at Goodwill they said that they recycled those small appliances too, so victory was mine.

Today I posted up five different listings of garage stuff on the internet in hopes they'll find new homes.
