Mid-week uncluttering

'Tis Wednesday again, how did that happen? And more importantly, what decluttering came along with it?

Today's win was a small one -- I finished turning a pair of leggings into 'yarn' using this method (approximately). There is a small squarish piece left over, which is going under the laundry sink in case of needing throwout rags, and the yarn is going in a collection of bits I'm putting together which will probably make a floor rug. I have a box of t-shirts (red, blue, green, yellow -- yes, for those who went through the same kind of schooling as me, these are indeed school faction shirts, acquired when the second hand shop threw them out after a uniform change) which I'm going to start cutting up Very Soon, so that I can make progress on this project. I'm actually kind of looking forward to it, because it is quite soothing to work with.

At least I could send it from my mail box, rather than make a trip to the post office.

It may just be one thing, but you're happy it's out of your house and the person receiving it is happy to have it, and will use it, so that sounds like a BIG win all round!

Sounds like you doing a good job turning clutter into useful stuff!

I have begun actually shredding the paperwork that I prepped a couple of weeks ago. Just doing a bit each day so I don't overwork my shredder. I also took the two coats I'd earmarked for donation along to the textile recycling bank over the weekend. So also small steps, but progress!

Slowly, so slowly, stored stuff is being made use of. But it is happening!

Good job on starting the shredding job. I hope the shredder holds out. Bonus for the coats as well!

Nothing actually on Wednesday (because Valentine's Day ate my time) but I took two bags of stuff to charity shops on Tuesday, including my wedding shoes, which I'm definitely never going to wear again. (Okay, one of them's never been worn at all, long story.) I also posted two pieces of jewellery that I don't wear to people who will wear them, so slowly but surely things are decreasing.

Also, I remembered to put the old clothes that are too battered for charity donations out for textile recycling this morning!

Well done for letting go of a difficult sentimental item like the shoes! Sounds like lots of good progress apart from that, too. :-)
