Mid-week uncluttering

I was a bit busy/distracted yesterday, and forgot to post. To make up for it, you get a Thursday post! How does the uncluttering go?

Me, I managed to find a home for a laptop that has been hidden in a drawer for many years. I used this one when I was last an undergrad, which was ~15 years ago, and it happened that a friend is in need of some of the functionality of a laptop, but doesn't need internet access, so this is perfect. I need to put a bit of time into cleaning off my data, but then I can let the machine go free!

Added to that, the friends who visit on Thursdays left with a handful of things -- a couple of books I won't read again with people who might read them, and two somewhat scruffy blankets made of scrap yarn which will be delivered to the Cat Haven, for keeping their cats happy(ish).

Let's see... sent a Christmas thing on its way yesterday, sent a Christmas gift that's been hanging out in the way for a few weeks. Added a box of unused Christmas cards to the donation pile. Recycled all the unsent Christmas cards from previous years (signed and so on). Recycled an old notebook and some loose papers from my desk. I'll go through the Christmas stuff again and try to send that along the way before the holiday. Threw out some old hot drink mix.

Currently offering a thing on FB. I'll add a shirt to the donation pile after washing it (wow, it was uncomfortable to wear yesterday! I have also bought several shirts for the cold weather so it's not much decluttering. I plan to reevaluate some work attire to make sure the shirts go with the pants and all that to have proper outfits that fit nicely.).

I'm also pleased to be through 3 skeins and then some of the bulky yarn. Once I use up all the bulky yarn, I should be able to fit all the knitting things in my storage dresser and clean that up.

I've thrown out two dead pieces of clothing this week! Instead of hoarding them for months before admitting they're dead, as is my usual habit, so yes. Proud of myself!!

I used up one skein of Christmas yarn and will probably use one or two more. I'm making doily-like covers for my media storage cabinets, which is where my tabletop Christmas trees live. I have to figure something else out for my fiber optic tree though since the yarn would be too thick to put under the tree and would block the air vents.

A bunch of toys out! Thanks to the collector-ish habits of their previous owners, they were either in-box or tag-on, and clean.

We took them to the toy donation station for donation to kids who wouldn't otherwise get much (or anything) for Christmas, and watched the volunteers' faces fall off as we rolled up with two gigantic totes of new-condition toys linked to popular TV series. :D
